But, research has shown that they should be considering the colour of their kit more carefully too. Colour psychology says that red encourages dominance and confidence, and yellow can stimulate higher energy levels. It looks like colour theory works in sports too. In fact, 50% of UK Premier League winners wore red, and four out of Brazil’s five World Cup wins were won in yellow.
